Beauty is but Skin-Deep

In the previous sections of our website we have discussed the issue of female beauty basing on different reflections and opinions. One thing that unites the though is the fact that all these opinions are mostly positive i.e. they all contributed to an extremely celestial attitude to female beauty. All those views were representing female beauty as a flawless virtue which is accompanied by equally perfect characteristics.

Now let's switch to another – less appealing belief. It deals with another hackneyed saying stating that beauty is only skin-deep. What does it mean? It means that people who are all for this belief declare that beauty is a very superficial quality in a person, particularly, in a woman. These people believe that beautiful women (since we're speaking of female beauty here) are very superficial to put it mildly.

In a more rough sense, it means that according to this proverb, a beautiful woman is nothing but a bimbo who thinks that it's perfectly enough to have nothing but her good looks in order to attract attention of men to her person. She is totally empty-headed and has never heard even the word 'IQ' not to mention knowing its meaning or possessing its meaning as one of her qualities.

With regard to the real life, of course there is a tendency when beautiful women appear to be quite superficial and silly, without any outstanding intellectual skills. Sometimes they are just ingenious spontaneous slightly silly girlies, sometimes they are quite dumb to be roughly honest.

However, what made everyone think that only good-looking girls are stupid and superficial? Does the whole thing mean that women who are less pretty are all smart and intellectual? Or maybe beauties' stupidity is much more noticeable because their charming appearance is equally striking? Let's put these questions and answers to them to rights.

First of all, it certainly doesn't mean that all beautiful women are stupid – it even sounds quite retardedly absurd. Certainly, there are exceptions (haha!) – beautiful women who are also very smart and witty and who are also wise enough not to show they are too smart and witty. If you have met such a lady and even managed to make her stay with you for long, then you are a lucky devil. If you have met beautiful divvys only, oh well, then at least your most aesthetic demands are satisfied.

Secondly, of course, women who are not very pretty can be equally not very smart as well, it doesn't mean that they are all geniuses. Things can't be all either black or white, especially when it's about women – highly controversial creatures who sometimes equal walking contradictions.

And finally, we should say that certainly, the saying about superficial character of female beauty is justified but only partially. Women are all different. One can't say that beautiful ladies are all empty and stupid, while all unpretty women are supersmart. They are just less noticeable than their beautiful fellow-femmes, maybe that's why their occasional brainlessness and superficial views seem not very frequent.

In any case, female beauty is a powerful force. Unfortunately, as a rule plain gals are rarely able to achieve as many interesting things in their private life as their gorgeous sisters.
